A Customily alternative for AI photo art

For Shopify stores that sell art made from a shopper’s photo: where Customily is the stronger choice, where Perzo works differently, and how their pricing models compare.

Perzo is our product. Perzo is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Customily; Customily is a trademark of its owner. Facts about Customily come from its public Shopify App Store listing, website and help center, checked on October 8, 2026 (sources at the end).

In short

  • Customily is a full product personalizer: clipart, designs and AI tools, live previews, automatic print files and print-on-demand integrations, on several platforms. AI effects on uploaded photos are one of its features.
  • Perzo does one job on Shopify: it turns each shopper’s photo into art in a style your store creates and tests, shows it on your product when a mockup is set up, has the shopper approve one exact image and prepares the print file.
  • If you need the full personalizer, Customily fits better. If the photo-to-art step is what you sell, compare the two on the points below.

Where Customily is stronger

  • A broader editor with a longer public track record. Listed on the Shopify App Store since April 29, 2020, with 275 reviews on its listing on October 8, 2026. It includes live previews, and its plan includes unlimited clipart, designs and AI tools.
  • Several platforms. Its pricing page lists Shopify, Etsy, Amazon, WooCommerce and Shoplazza. Perzo is a Shopify app only.
  • Fulfillment integrations. Its listing names print-on-demand providers such as Printful, Printify and Gelato and says it automates fulfillment. Perzo has no direct print-on-demand integrations yet.
  • Support and onboarding. It offers free demos and live training, and the most recent reviews visible on its listing on October 8, 2026 praise its support and onboarding.
  • Choice of AI provider and prompts. Its help center describes preset AI effects (such as cartoon, watercolor or 3D art) and custom prompts, with a choice of Gemini, OpenAI or OpenRouter.

Where Perzo works differently

  • A style calibrated by the store. Upload one to four examples of the finished look you sell and Perzo Guide describes it in short points you can edit, or start from a ready style. Test it on sample photos like the ones your shoppers will send; each saved change creates a new version you can test, compare and roll back. Shoppers pick from your published styles and never write prompts.
  • Approval of the exact image. Shoppers see the art on your product when a mockup is set up, or the artwork itself without one. The version they add to the cart is the approved one: “This exact image goes with your order. It will not be changed or recreated.”
  • A print file per linked order. Each linked personalized order appears in Perzo with the original photo and the approved art, and its production file is prepared there: at the product’s print size, checked against its minimum DPI, as PNG, JPEG, PDF or TIFF.
  • Billed per generation. Perzo’s plans include a number of generations a month instead of charging per personalized item sold. You set how many versions a shopper can create per session and a monthly cap; extra generations stay off until you turn them on.

Pricing, side by side

What Perzo doesn’t do yet

  • No direct print-on-demand integrations: you download the print file from the order and send it to your printer.
  • Shopify only, on Online Store 2.0 themes whose product page accepts app blocks, such as Dawn.
  • Not a general-purpose template editor. There is no clip art; shoppers personalize a photo in one of your published styles and, when enabled, can add and arrange text within limits you set.
  • A 2D preview on your product photo, not a 3D model.
  • No reviews yet.

Which one fits your store

  • Customily if you need clipart and designs on many products, sell on more than one platform, want orders sent to a print-on-demand provider automatically, or want hands-on onboarding from an established vendor.
  • Perzo if the art made from the shopper’s photo is the product, you want it in a style your store creates and tests, and you print in-house or send files to your provider yourself.

Questions about switching

Is Perzo affiliated with Customily?

No. Perzo is an independent Shopify app made by a different company. Customily is a trademark of its owner, used here only to name the app we compare with.

Can Perzo replace a full product personalizer?

Not for every store. Perzo covers one job: turning the shopper’s photo into art in your style, with approval and a print file. It has no clip art or general template editor and no direct print-on-demand integrations.

Which one costs less?

It depends on your numbers. Customily charges a monthly fee plus a fee per unique personalized item sold; Perzo charges a monthly plan with generations included, and a generation counts whether or not the shopper buys. Compare both with your own monthly orders and the number of versions your shoppers create.

Does Perzo work with Printful, Printify or Gelato?

Not directly: there are no print-on-demand integrations yet. Download the print file from the order (PNG, JPEG, PDF or TIFF) and send it to your provider or printer.

Do shoppers write prompts in Perzo?

No. The store creates and publishes its styles; shoppers pick one of them, and can add a name or short text when you enable it. That text is set over the art on the print file and never goes to the AI.
